While Linux is a very powerful server operating system, it is not exclusively a server operating system. Linux is a very good Workstation/Home use operating system, as well.

According to an InfoWorld article, Microsoft itself isn't using Windows 2000 for critical functionality - a former Microsoft employee revealed that Internally, when Windows 2000 was announced, people were told not to even think about using it for production because it was too unstable.
Why would anyone want to use an operating system even its makers don't trust? | | | |
